K12 Online School is a wonderful alternative to both public and private school settings. Designed to work together with bricks-and-mortar schools, K12 has won many awards for their approach to learning, one of a kind curriculum, and online interface.
Why Choose K12 Online School?
Although public and private schools are great places for children of all ages to get an education, there are times when many children need extra attention. In the United States, a single teacher is responsible for providing the education of more than 20 children. In cases when a struggling student—or, perhaps, an advanced student—needs additional attention and customized learning plans, K12 Online School can provide them. K12 works directly with a child’s teachers to expand upon their current lessons and present them in a one-on-one environment. This has been proven to maximize the capabilities of children across the country.
What Types of Programs are Offered?
What sets K12 apart from other online schools is the multitude of programs that are offered to different types of students. In the K-8 program alone, there are 45 different courses available in seven different subjects including English, Math, Science, and Art. The entire course is not taken online, but is supplemented with traditional textbooks and workbooks. The High School program boasts an awesome 150 online courses in several different levels. Students are provided with an individual learning plan and dedicated teachers and advisers.
How Much Will it Cost?
K12 Online School is proudly tuition-free. Courses are paid for on a monthly basis and exclude the cost of additional materials that may be needed. Independent study courses paid for up front receive a 10 percent discount. Teacher-Led schooling can be purchased for an entire year with the prices varying by grade. World Languages courses are not core subjects and are considered optional in most states. For this reason, World Languages courses are purchased separately from the core curriculum. The prices for these courses vary with different grades, and there is a slight increase in cost if the child will be earning a credit for the course.
Parent and Student Reviews
Parents, teachers and students from all over the country have experienced the positive influence K12 can have on the learning process. Parents state that they enjoy the level of attention their child recieves from K12 and that membership allows them to go on planned Field Trips with other families in the program. Teachers are thrilled with K12 because they notice that their students are no longer upset that they are too far ahead or behind their peers. Students even rave about the experience that K12 online school provides. Many K12 graduates move on to attend elite Universities such as Berkeley and Yale.
Online school is a great option for students who are struggling with the standard school setting for any reason. It can be used as the primary source of education or as a supplement to what is happening in the classroom. For any child who is having difficulty in school, or simply for a parent who is interested in teaching their child a new language, K12 is one of the best online schools on the Internet.
